Popcorn Balls

Private Massages San Pedro

A delightful and simple-to-make sweet treat that works well for any occasion are popcorn balls. They are a hit because of the combination of crunchy popcorn and a sweet, buttery coating.

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Pop the popcorn and discard any unpopped kernels by transferring it to a big bowl

Melt the butter, add the sugar, corn syrup, and salt to a saucepan over medium heat

The mixture should boil for 45 minutes while stirring continuously, or until it reaches the soft ball stage, which is measured by a candy thermometer at 235F/113C

After taking off the heat, whisk in the vanilla extract

Shake well to ensure that the popcorn is evenly coated before pouring the hot sugar mixture over it

After letting the mixture cool a little, coat the popcorn in oil and roll it into balls with your hands

Transfer the popcorn balls to a tray lined with parchment paper to cool fully and solidify

Store in an airtight container after cooling
