These Falafel Tahini Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce are a tasty take on regular burgers. They taste like they came from the Middle East and are great for vegetarians or vegans. The creamy tahini and tzatziki sauces go well with the crispy falafel patties to make a satisfying and flavorful burger.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of dried chickpeas, soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of tzatziki sauce
  • 4 tablespoons of tahini sauce
  • Lettuce leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Soak the chickpeas and put them in a food processor with the onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper

When you pulse the mixture, it gets rough but well mixed

Add the all-purpose flour and mix it in after moving the mixture to a bowl

Mix the ingredients together until they stick together and can be shaped into patties

Split the mixture in half and shape each half into a burger patty

In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat

The falafel patties are done when they are golden brown and cooked all the way through after about 3 to 4 minutes on each side

In a pan or toaster, toast the whole wheat burger buns until they get a little crispy

The burgers can be put together by putting a tablespoon of tahini sauce on the bottom half of each bun

On top of the sauce, put a falafel patty

Then, add slices of tomato, cucumber, and red onion

Put tzatziki sauce on the top half of the buns and then put them on top of the other ingredients

Add lettuce leaves on top, and your Falafel Tahini Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce are ready to eat
