Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans optional
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:

Set the oven temperature to 375F 190C

Carefully unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a surface dusted with flour

Across the pastry sheet, equally distribute the softened butter

Over the buttered pastry, scatter the chopped pecans, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar, if using

Starting from one end of the pastry sheet, tightly roll it up to form a log

Cut the log into rounds that are one inch thick, then arrange them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cinnamon swirls are puffy and golden brown, in a preheated oven

As the whirls bake, make the glaze by blending milk and powdered sugar until it becomes smooth

When the whirls are finished, cover them with the glaze while theyre still warm

Before serving, let the cinnamon swirls cool a little
